HIGHLAND HOUSE

About 3 miles north of the Village of Codrington, we will take you to the Highland house, also known locally as “Willy Bob”.

It is situated on the highest point of Barbuda, 125 feet above the sea level !

John and Christopher Codrington got the lease for 50 years of Barbuda in exchange of “one fat sheep on demand” !

The floors and lower walls and a large cistern are all that remain of the family settlement of the slave owners. The view from the house is the best way to see most of the coastline of Barbuda on the Caribbean Sea.
TWO FOOT BAY

Two Foot Bay is half a mile north east from Highland House.

Here you will climb into the caves to overlook one of the most picturesque beaches of Barbuda
DARBY'S CAVE - SINK HOLE

This excursion to Darby’s cave is optional.

Situated three and a half miles north-east of the village, it is well worth the one and a half hour hike to reach this amazing natural feature of Barbuda.

A “must-do” if you enjoy walking.
THE SANCTUARY BIRD

A 15 minute boat ride across the lagoon will take us to the Bird Sanctuary, home of a 2500 birds (fregata Magnificens), an amazing sight even for those not interested in bird watching !

It is said to be the largest Fregate Birds gathering in the world.

They are locally called Man O’War and have their mating season from September to April. The male display a spectacular inflated red chest to attract a female mate.
